The Bachelor of Science in Anesthesia Technology (BS-ANTech) at Dubai Medical University is a four-year program designed to prepare highly skilled perioperative professionals who support anesthesia delivery, patient monitoring, and surgical safety. The curriculum combines strong foundations in biomedical sciences with specialized training in anesthesia systems, patient care technologies, and clinical practice in modern healthcare environments.
During the first two years, students build essential knowledge in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, and pathology, while developing professional competencies in communication, research, and healthcare ethics. Early exposure to perioperative care, sterility science, infection control, and anesthesia technology introduces students to the clinical environment.
In Year 3, the program advances into specialized anesthesia topics including patient monitoring, anesthesia equipment and safety systems, perioperative diagnostics, and anesthesia management across different surgical contexts. Simulation and laboratory training strengthen clinical decision-making and teamwork.
The final year focuses on advanced anesthesia practice and extensive supervised clinical training in operating rooms and perioperative units. Through these experiences, graduates develop the technical competence, critical thinking, and professional confidence needed to contribute effectively to multidisciplinary surgical teams and to support high standards of patient safety and care.
