Dr. Rania Hamed Shalaby is an Egyptian pharmacologist, medical educator, and academic leader with over 18 years of distinguished service. She obtained her M.B.B.Ch. (2005), M.Sc. (2011), and Ph.D. (2016) in Basic Medical Sciences (Pharmacology) from Tanta University, Egypt, where she also serves as an Assistant Professor.
She joined the College of Medicine (COM) in 2016 as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at Dubai Medical College for Girls (DMCG) since 2023. In 2025, she was appointed Director of the Student Success Centre (SSC) at COM.
A 2024 JMHPE graduate (Maastricht–Suez Canal University), Dr. Shalaby is a regional leader in portfolio-based assessment and mentorship programs. She coordinates the Renal, Cardiovascular System (CVS) & pharmacology courses, supervises Master of Addiction Sciences theses, and leads innovative PBL development projects across COM.
Her research focuses on pharmacological interventions addressing inflammation, oxidative stress, and metabolic disorders, with several peer-reviewed publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. As SSC Director, she oversees student appeals and grievances, academic advising, attendance monitoring, and peer tutoring programs, ensuring holistic academic guidance and support for student success.
