Message from the Dean
Dubai Medical University College of Medicine proudly stands as the first private medical college in the UAE to award a degree in Medicine and Surgery. Founded through the vision of Haj Saeed Lootah, the College was established on strong Islamic values to provide women in the UAE the opportunity to pursue medical education locally, empowering them to serve their nation with confidence and purpose.
Today, the College advances that legacy through innovative, future-focused programs delivered within a values-driven academic environment. Our curricula are continuously reviewed and refined in alignment with the best global practices in medical education, ensuring academic excellence and societal relevance.
Beginning Fall 2025, the College introduces a restructured, competency-based 2+4 Doctor of Medicine (MD) curriculum. The first two years focus on general education, followed by two years of integrated biomedical sciences and two years of immersive clinical clerkships.
In addition to the six-year MD track, a Graduate Entry MD (4-year) pathway enables qualified degree holders to enter directly into advanced stages of the program. Uniquely, graduates of health sciences programs may join the MD in Year 3, reinforcing academic mobility and interdisciplinary progression. Both pathways are globally benchmarked and designed to cultivate clinically competent, ethically grounded physicians.
The BBMS program is a forward-looking degree aligned with the UAE Professional Qualification Framework, preparing graduates for national and international certifications. It equips students with scientific expertise, critical thinking, and innovation skills essential for leadership in laboratory medicine, biomedical research, and the broader healthcare and life sciences sectors. The program opens diverse pathways into clinical practice, research, postgraduate education, and healthcare leadership.
To strengthen academic leadership in healthcare, the College offers postgraduate qualifications in Health Professions Education, including a Postgraduate Diploma, and Master’s degree. These programs empower healthcare professionals to excel as educators, curriculum designers, and academic leaders in an evolving global health landscape.
Beyond academics, the College nurtures a vibrant student life. Through an active student union and a wide range of scientific, cultural, social, community, and sports initiatives, students build lifelong professional bonds and meaningful community engagement.
We invite aspiring young women to join College of Medicine, Dubai Medical University, where tradition meets innovation, and education becomes a pathway to service, leadership, and impact.
