College of Medicine students at Dubai Medical University (DMU) presented their research, titled \u201cA Quasi-Experimental School-Based Evaluation of a Brief Genetic Literacy Intervention Among UAE Adolescents,\u201d<\/strong> at the 1st<\/sup> UAE National Congress on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) 2026<\/strong>, held from 22\u201324 September 2026 at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City. The research was presented under the supervision of Dr. Ambreen Ansar<\/strong> and was selected for poster presentation as part of the congress\u2019s scientific program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The research explored genetic literacy and screening awareness among adolescents in the UAE, highlighting the importance of improving knowledge and awareness of genetics and health from an early age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The congress brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, academics, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge and discuss current approaches to the prevention, early detection, and management of non-communicable diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
