On September 25, 2025 – The College of Pharmacy at DMU announces the successful thesis defense of Shahad Neimat, MPharm (Clinical Pharmacy) candidate. Her thesis, titled "Clinical Characteristics, Treatment, and Outcomes of Infectious Diseases in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease: A Retrospective Observational Study," explored the clinical patterns, management, and treatment outcomes of infectious diseases in patients with chronic kidney disease. This important study contributes to the understanding of infection-related risks and therapeutic strategies in this vulnerable population.

\n Ms. Shahad was supervised by Prof. Kishore Gnana Sam.Her defense was examined by Prof. Mirza Baig (Internal Examiner) and Dr. Kingston Rajiah (External Examiner, Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice, School of Pharmaceutical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ulster University, UK). On September 25, 2025 – The College of Pharmacy at DMU announces the successful thesis defense of Anood Darwish AlHosani, MPharm (Clinical Pharmacy) candidate. Her thesis, titled "Monitoring of Drug-Induced Anemia in Patients Admitted to the ICU in a Tertiary Care Hospital," investigated the occurrence, monitoring practices, and management of drug-induced anemia in critically ill patients. The findings highlight the crucial role of vigilant monitoring in improving patient safety and outcomes in intensive care settings.

On September 22, 2025 – The College of Pharmacy at DMU announces the successful thesis defense of Sowndarya Valli A, MPharm (Clinical Pharmacy) candidate. Her thesis, titled "Evaluating Public Perception of Herbal and Allopathic Medicines: An Analysis of Trust, Preferences, and Decision-Making Elements in Healthcare Decisions in the UAE," examined public attitudes toward traditional herbal medicines and conventional allopathic treatments. The study provides valuable insights into factors shaping healthcare choices and highlights the importance of understanding patient perspectives in promoting safe and effective treatment pathways.
