The College of Nursing at Dubai Medical University (DMU) proudly participated in the SANID Program, a national volunteer initiative dedicated to training individuals to effectively respond to disasters and emergencies across the UAE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held from June 2nd to 4th, 2025 at the DMU Building (Second Floor, Rooms 207 & 208), the program brought together nursing students and faculty members for three days of intensive training that combined lecture-based instruction with hands-on practical sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training covered a wide range of essential emergency preparedness and response skills, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Preparing for disasters<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Leadership in crisis situations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Fire safety and prevention<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Psychological reactions to disasters<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Search and rescue operations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Injury triage and classification<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Raising awareness about terrorism<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Lifting and securing techniques<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Basic first aid<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    A highlight of the program was a comprehensive emergency simulation exercise, where participants applied all the skills learned in a realistic, scenario-based environment, enhancing their confidence and readiness to respond to public emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Through this initiative, the College of Nursing<\/strong> reaffirmed its commitment to preparing students as skilled, resilient, and community-focused healthcare professionals<\/strong> who are ready to serve in times of crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
